Bedford to Brentford: 110 miles return

Taxi – Train – Tube – Thames River Boat – Brentford Stadium (with a few pubs in between!)

Bedford Lions couldn’t resist our annual boat trip down the Thames from Westminster to Kew Gardens.  Starting with an 8.30am train down to St Pancras we then met up with some of the Punjabi Villans, about 30 of us boarded the 11am departure, seated on the front deck.  Soaking in the sights along the way, I’m pretty sure we nearly drank the bar dry, all whilst enjoying the sunshine, waving to Fulham and having a good old sing song of Villa favourites.

We even had Tina (our Chair) as Captain at one point!

And that’s when the day went downhill – lets not talk about the game or result…..

* There will be an early chance for revenge however as Aston Villa drew Brentford away in the 3rd round of the Carabao Cup! To be played week commencing 16th September 2025
