FPL- Gameweek 3

It’s the final week before the International break and just before the end of the Summer transfer window. In the Bedford Lions and Lionesses League, we take a look at the player of the week who is climbing upwards in the table and the early tussle at the top between two legends of the Bedford Lions!

Very Perky

In the FPL, it always wise to look at the bigger picture in any mini league table at the gap of points in the early stages of the season. Luke Perkins found himself in 19th place with 97 points but only 20 off the top 6. His team Guessand my team scored impressive 74 points thanks to solid performances.

His captain Erling Haaland scored 18 points in Man City 2-1 defeat at Brighton & Hove Albion. Another solid performance from Jack Grealish (remember him?) scoring 10 thanks to 2 assists in Everton 3-2 win at Wolves. Joao Pedro (9) scored again in Chelsea 2-0 win over Fulham and Crystal Palace’s Ismaila Sarr (7) scored at the weekend too, less said about that the better. It could have actually gone better for Luke, had he started another Palace goalscorer at the weekend Marc Guehi (15), again less said about that the better.

Still he has moved on up to joint sixth place with Jamie Stewart’s team 1. FC McGinniesta on 171 points.

Tussle At The Top!

The two early leaders of the table were very closely matched again after Gameweek 3 with George Procter’s Cash In Cash Out team getting the better of the previous leader Adam Parsons’s Parso by scoring 5 more in the week and leading by 7 points, with 210 in total.

He also captained Haaland and had Pedro in his team as well. He also got 10 points from Bruno Fernandes of Man Utd after scoring a late penalty in 3-2 win over Burnley plus extra 16 points from Crystal Palace players Dean Henderson (7) and Daniel Munoz (9). I wonder who they were playing?

Now that the Internationals are gone and the Summer transfer window is closed, it will be interesting to all the players are going to do and wonder if some are tempted to play a wildcard ahead of the next round of Premier League fixtures. Certainly will be good to get back into the routine.

Deadline for gameweek 4 team selections is 11am on Saturday 13th September.
