Welcome to the latest review of the Bedford Lions and Lionesses League. This saw a first time where two teams shared the best team of the week award. Both at different areas of the mini league table. There is of course naturally review at the top of the table and naturally the same player heading the way!
Sharing The Prize
Luke Frost certainly knows his stuff when it comes to the FPL. He previously selected Erling Haaland as his Triple Captain. This helped his team Take a Guessand to score 78 points in the previous gameweek.
This time around, he went 4 points better to score 82 points and this was more of a team effort. Haaland was once again his captain, scoring the winner in 1-0 win at Brentford to helped him score 16 points. There were also goals for Bournemouth’s Antoine Semenyo (18 points), Tottenham Hotspur’s Mohammed Kudus (12 points) and Everton’s Jack Grealish with 10 points. A very solid performance indeed which sees him up to 2nd place in the table.

Now usually that amount would be enough to win the team of the week but not this time. Luke has to share it this time around with David Ward.
David’s team Gingerninja Villans played a wildcard to mainly feature Arsenal, Bournemouth, Crystal Palace and Newcastle United players with Man City’s Haaland as his captain. He also had Semenyo in his team but also had goals from Arsenal’s Bukayo Saka (8 points), Crystal Palace’s Daniel Munoz (8 points) and Newcastle United striker Nick Woltemade (6 points).
His team 82 points has also seen them move upwards in the table to 26th position. This has been a strong mini league so far, with 29 of 32 players scoring 300+ points in the table so far.
The 3 exceptions includes 2 players who joined the mini league after the opening gameweek and are catching up nicely.

Snakes And Ladders
No change at the top with George Procter’s Cash in Cash Out team holding strong at the top of the table with 498 points. Luke Frost’s strong performance has seen his team up to 2nd place replacing Luke Perkins’s Guessand my team who dropped to 3rd. From exception of Jamie Stewart, the rest of the top 10 have been either moving up or down the table.
Still a long way to go, especially just 30 points separate 2nd to 8th in the table.

After seeing 3 Aston Villa players play for England this week and qualifying for the 2026 World Cup, we are back! Four big game weeks before the final international break of 2025 in the middle of next month. Don’t forget to put your team selections in, the break has probably done us all good!
Deadline for gameweek 8 team selections is 11:00am on Saturday 18th October.
