In the first full weekend of Premier League action of 2026, we take a look at the player returning to form plus the other events of the week.
Back to Form
James has found himself near the top of the table for most of the season but his form has slipped recently. He had dropped down to 5th but moved up to 4th in the last match stage.
His recent revival has continued with an impressive 71 points to win this week match day table.
He got four perfect scores which were Aston Villa beating Nottingham Forest 3-1, 1-1 draw between Tottenham Hotspur and Sunderland, a 2-0 win for Newcastle United over Crystal Palace and a successful joker put on Brighton & Hove Albion to beat Burnley 2-0. He scored points pretty consistently in all bar two Premier League games.
He stays in 4th place on the overall table on 1,008 points. he closing in on the front runners though and I will be looking to keep this going.

Other Title Contenders
James is the latest member to 1,000 points club and the other 3 players all scored well too. Luke Frost scored 67 points this week to maintain top place on 1,079 points, increasing his lead to 46 points on Param Basi, who had much improved week scoring 56 points. I stayed in 3rd place on 1,024 points, just behind of Param and just ahead of James.
A full league table is below.

There has been a lot of Forescore match stages over the festive period but now we have just a midweek action starting tonight (6th January) with bottom of the table clash between West Ham United and Nottingham Forest. After that match stage, we can all start dreaming of FA Cup glory or not at the weekend!
