We return to the Champions League after winning the Europa League last season and finishing in the top 4 of the Premier League. However, as with last season, we have made a slow start in the domestic league with just 1 point out of 3 games.
Last year, a 1-0 win over Bologna in the Europa League got things going and hopefully a repeat of this will happen tonight. So to whet your appetite, here is a list of our fixtures in the Champions League-
Club Brugge (Away)- Tuesday 8th September 5:45pm ko
Fenerbahce (Home)- Wednesday 14th October 8:00pm ko
Viking (Home)- Wednesday 21st October 8:00pm ko
Barcelona (Away)- Tuesday 3rd November 8:00pm ko
Galatasaray (Away)- Tuesday 24th November 5:45pm ko
PSG (Home)- Tuesday 8th December 8:00pm ko
Borussia Dortmund (Home)- Tuesday 19th January 8:00pm ko
Slavia Prague (Away)- Wednesday 27th January 8:00pm ko
This is the league stage where we play 8 matches- 4 at home and 4 away. There are 36 teams in the league stage.
| Position | Progression |
| 1-8th Place | Advance to Last 16 |
| 9-24th Place | Take part in the play-off stage (Last 32) |
| 25-36th | Eliminated |
With Unai Emery’s record in Europe and with our new players starting to settle, we should feel confident in creating more golden adventures.
Up The Villa!
