After the opening week was done and dusted, Bedford Lions and Lionesses League is well underway and a big welcome to Cash Teek (Claude FC) for joining and making it a straight 30 players.

This week we take a special look at the team of the week, who has also rocketed up the table plus the new leader who scored many points. Sadly though not from Aston Villa players!

Moving On Up Now

The opening league table for all Fantasy players in the FPL is pretty irrelevant like in the real thing although It’s never nice to be at the foot of the table. That is what Terry Williams found himself though with his team EWWF.

Although you know what they say it’s always a new gameweek and in week 2 Terry scored well and big! Firstly Joao Pedro (15 points) scored and Marc Cucurella (5 points) gained an assist in Chelsea 5-1 ‘hammering’ of West Ham United. Then his captain Arsenal Viktor Gyokeres (24 points) scored twice for Arsenal in their 5-0 win over Leeds United.

It wasn’t just his forward players scoring big, his goalkeeper did too! Everton’s Jordan Pickford (15 points) kept a clean sheet and saved a penalty to make Everton first game at Hill Dickinson Stadium a memorable one, with a 2-0 win over Brighton & Hove Albion. 

Terry’s team that started week 2 in 29th position, scored a massive 84 points to climb 17 places to 12th. Well done that man!

New Leader At The Top!

It was also a good week for Adam Parsons’s Parso team. He too captained Gyokeres and had Joao Pedro in his team. He scored 73 points this week taking his overall total to 141, just ahead of previous leader George Procter’s Cash In Cash Out team by two points in the league table.

So an interesting week and finding out that is ‘the’ Ian Taylor in the league has perked me up in what was a disappointing result at Brentford. Gameweek 3 will be the last before the international week and the first one with Saturday morning deadline due to Crystal Palace’s European game. This will be full of spirit going into a Sunday night away match in the Midlands. I wonder who that will be against?!
