FPL- Gameweek 4

The first gameweek after the International break and a good week for lots of players in the Bedford Lions and Lionesses League, with several fantasy teams scoring 70+ in the week. We take a look at the team that just edged it with one of the best team names and the events at the top of the table.

Paradise

In the FPL, I not only look closely at what team selections and if any chips were played but I also take a good look at the fantasy team names. One of the standout names is Gangsters Allardyce by Aaron Basi. Maybe he is a fan of Coolio and/or The Specials or recognising the only England Manager who had a 100% win success rate- Sam Allardyce. Whatever it was, fair play to him! More good news for Aaron is he was the star Manager of the week scoring 85 points.

A big part was played when his Captain Mo Salah (18 points) scored a last minute penalty for Liverpool to win 1-0 at Burnley. He also had other players that were on the scoresheet like Erling Haaland (13) scoring twice in a 3-0 derby win for Manchester City against Manchester United. Micky van de Vin (14) capped off a fine performance with a goal for Tottenham Hotspur to secure a 3-0 win at West Ham United and Antoine Semenyo (13) scoring a penalty and assisting for Bournemouth in their 2-1 win against Brighton & Hove Albion.

Due to this fine week, he finds his team up to 12th with 227 points and closing the gap on the top six.

Coming Together

No changes at the top of the table with Cash In Cash Out team pulling further ahead. It was also good week for Thomas Brierley team Scenes From an Emery. As well as having Salah and van de Vin, his Chelsea players also score well with his Captain Joao Pedro (14) assisting and Moses Caicedo (12) scoring in a 2-2 draw at Brentford. Scoring 83 points and moving up to 3rd place with 259 points.

Luke Perkins’s Guessand my team had another good week (76 points) to move up to 4th and yours truly’s team Fast Eddie XV, who played a good wildcard to score 83 points and move to 5th.

Very competitive at the top with just 10 points separating Fast Eddie XV in 5th and Luke Frost’s Take a Guessand in 11th place.

So, great to be back in the routine and good week for many. Now to the following gameweek, with some very tough fixtures and working out of how tired, many of players that played in the Champions League this week will be. The week after will be the same question for the players in the respective Europa Leagues.

Deadline for gameweek 5 team selections is 11am on Saturday 20th September.
