The new season is well under way at the FPL mini League- Bedford Lions and Lionesses League and as mention in the very first post, a new dilemma with the use of all the chips to play in both the first and second half of the season. We take a look at the players who knew how to manage and review of the league table as one player that dropped down as big in the table like a pop band that’s gone out of fashion!
Triple Time
One of those chips was the of course the Triple Captain. This usually in previous seasons, would be ideally used for a double gameweek (captain playing 2 games). However with these can be used before the midway point of the season and it’s very unlikely to many postponements of games, the dilemma facing all Managers is when to use it.
One of the most popular players be used as Captain is of course Manchester City Striker Erling Haaland and with Manchester City facing Burnley at home, seem like then ideal to play the chip or was it?
Haaland when off with a knock in the previous game, a 1-1 draw at Arsenal, so there was doubt whether he would be fit for the game. However head coach Pep Guardiola declared him fit and few players decided to play the chip.
One of those that jumped on the bandwagon was the mini league organiser himself, Luke Frost. As for the match, Manchester City were leading 3-1 with Haaland making an assist, so at that moment his points returned was ok but not great. Then, in true Haaland style, he bagged two goals to complete a 5-1 victory.
This gave him a whopping 48 points (with triple captain activated) and this move helped Luke’s team Take a Guessand to be the team of the week with 78 points. This leaves helps him up to joint 5th in the table, with Expected Toulouse on 359 points.
A special mention to another player who used the chip, Matthew Laing with his team Absolute Creamers scoring 77 points this week and is up to 19th in the table with 311 points.

Best And Worse Of The Rest
No change at the top with George Procter’s Cash in Cash Out team holding strong at the top of the table with 425 points. There was also good weeks for Luke Perkins’s Guessand my team scoring 61 points to move into 2nd place with 364 in total and myself, who also played the chip on Haaland scoring 71 this week to move up to 3rd, one point behind.
If last week didn’t go well for Adam Parsons’s team Parso (44 points), they went down to a really bad week this time. He scored 19 points, to move from 2nd, down to 11th with 325 points overall. Still, it early days, so plenty of time to catch up mate!

Fun week, plenty of other managers who will be using their chips throughout the first half of the season. This coming week is the last before the International break and are spread out over the weekend including an earlier deadline time, so get your team selections ready!
Deadline for gameweek 7 team selections is 6:30pm on Friday 3rd October.
