FPL- Gameweek 8

In the Bedford Lions and Lionesses League, We have seen some big scores but this week we have seen the first team to break 100+ points barrier. We will review the in form team and the situation at the top of the table.

Breakthrough

Last week David Ward’s team Gingerninja Villans shared the team of the week with Luke Frost’s Take a Guessand on 82 points thanks mainly to playing his wildcard chip. This week he used another chip, this time a Bench Boost to be the first team to score 100+ in a week this season.

Naturally Man City’s Erling Haaland was captain and he scored twice in Manchester City 2-0 win over Everton to score 26 points . His other two strikers were also on the scoresheet with Jean-Philippe Mateta of Crystal Palace (17 points) scoring a hat-trick in their 3-3 draw with Bournemouth and Newcastle United striker Nick Woltemade (8 points) scoring in their 2-1 defeat at Brighton & Hove Albion.

His substitutes also scored well on the bench boost to give an additional 21 points to finish with an overall for the week of 111 points.

This sees his team continue to raise in the table, climbing 10 places to 16th with 450 points in total.

Nicely played indeed!

Moving On Up

Naturally George Procter’s Cash in Cash Out team had a superb week with 88 points to hold strong at the top of the table with 586 points.

In fact all of the current top six scored 70+ points bar one. Luke Perkins’s Guessand my team scored 74 in the week to move back to 2nd place with 511 points, just two ahead of Jamie Stewart’s 1. FC McGinniesta who scored 76 this week.

The one exception in the top 6 was Luke Frost’s Take a Guessand who scored 62 points to drop down to 4th overall with 499, just one ahead of my Fast Eddie XV team who scored 73 points this week.

A strong week for most of the players in the league this week.

Some more tricky matches this week and it may be difficult for those high scores to be match this week. The games are also spread which includes tonight game between Leeds United and West Ham United at 8pm.

Deadline for gameweek 9 team selections is 6:30pm on Friday 24th October.
