In the Bedford Lions and Lionesses League, we take a look at gameweek 17 with a very special name getting the team of the week plus the events at the top of there table, as many players had a very strong week.
Spreading Some Joy
The Bedford Lions and Lionesses League is a fun league to be a part of and everyone with one main mutual love of the Football Club known as Aston Villa.
So imagine how it feels for the Manager of the week, not just to have support the club but also to join them before Christmas 1994, make over 200 appearances and win the last main silverware the club picked up 30 years ago.
That man is of course, Ian Taylor. It’s a privilege the he is part of the league although his team Tayls Tackle 3.0 have been finding the season hard going, near the bottom reaches of the table.
This week though was all changed, as he scored impressive 112 points thanks to playing a valuable Triple Captain chip on, you guess it, Manchester City’s Erling Haaland. His 2 goals and assist in their 3-0 win over West Ham United, scored him a staggering 48 points. Other big scores in the team this week came from his Midfielders, quite naturally to him! Morgan Rogers scored twice in our 2-1 win over Manchester United to get him 15 points, Arsenal’s Declan Rice scored 11 points in their 1-0 win away at Everton and Bournemouth Antoine Semenyo (10 points) scored in Bournemouth 1-1 draw with Burnley.
Taylor climbs up one place to 24th on 925 points overall. More good performances could see more talking more about one of my all time favourite Aston Villa players even more as the season progresses.

High Achievers
George Procter’s Cash in Cash Out team is still clear at the top with his team scoring 74 points this week to put his side on to put his side on 1142 points overall.
There were no changes in the next 3 places with Aaron Basi’s Gangsters Allardyce on 1037 points, Jamie Stewart’s 1. FC McGinniesta team on 1025 points and Jack Stewart’s Serious Konsaquences on 1017 points.
All of the top 10 have past 1k mark with a special mention to Christopher Brown’s PSR: Big 6 cartel who moved up to 10th place after scoring 106 points this week. Well Played!

A very strong week and a happy one for us Villa fans before Christmas. We return for Boxing Day, that sees just one game being played! The rest take place over the next few days afterwards. Follow the progress of the FPL on the website.
Deadline for gameweek 18 team selections is 6:30pm on Friday 26th December.
Everyone at Bedford Lions would like to wish you all a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
